start a chapter

It is simple to create a Parentless Parents chapter. The best place to begin is the Parentless Parents group page on Facebook. Your status update should communicate your interest in starting a new group and the region the chapter will be located. That’s it! After you post the update, just remember to check back periodically to see who’s interested in joining and get started.

Forming a chapter is easy because there are absolutely no rules to follow. It can’t be done wrong and it doesn’t take a lot of effort. Since every chapter of Parentless Parents runs independently, you decide how often to meet and what to discuss. The meetings can take place in a professional setting or in someone’s home. They can be formal or informal. Some of the best meetings I’ve attended happened over a delicious potluck dinner.

If you’d like help organizing a chapter, feel free to email me at allison@allisongilbert.com for concrete suggestions. Please put “New Chapter Information” in the subject line. If you’d like ideas for discussion topics, please write “Discussion Topics” in the subject line, and I’ll be sure to email those as well.

A friendly request. Since every chapter of Parentless Parents is linked through www.allisongilbert.com, please let me know when you’ve formed a new group so I can add the appropriate information to the “Join a Chapter” page. This is how our community will continue to grow and more and more parents will find the support and understanding they need.
